Name and address verification review tasks

Name and address verification results appear as review tasks on the Business object. This page describes their types, statuses, and messages.

name review task

Verify that the submitted business name matches official records and identify potential discrepancies.

Confirm the submitted office address exists and matches against verified address databases.

address_cmra review task

Identify if the address is a commercial mail receiving agency rather than a physical business location. If a submitted address is tagged by USPS as a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency, a business does not operate at this address, which may be a fraud indicator.

entity_type_match review task

Verify that the submitted entity type (LLC, Corporation, and so on) matches the entity type on the domestic registration.

To use the entity type review tasks, submit an entity type with the business’s formation. See the POST /businesses endpoint for more details.

Confirm that both the business name and entity type together match the official registration records.
