Credit product jurisdiction coverage
This reference lists jurisdiction-level coverage for Middesk’s credit risk products. Use it to determine where each product returns results before you submit an order.
Liens
The Lien search column covers business lien searches (liens) and people lien searches (people_tax_liens and people_ucc_liens). Coverage is identical across all three. Lien search spans UCC, federal tax, and state tax liens, and federal tax liens are national. The Lien filing column covers UCC-1 filings submitted through state offices.
Lien search and lien filing are both supported in the same 53 jurisdictions: all 50 states, DC, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. The 8 remaining territories and Armed Forces designations (GU, MP, AS, MH, PW, AA, AE, and AP) support neither. Searches run against the states where the business is registered or has a submitted address.
Litigations
The table covers litigations (business) and people_litigations (individuals on the business). Federal court records are national, and state-court coverage spans a subset of states. Coverage is identical for business and people litigations.
Bankruptcy filings
The table covers bankruptcies (business) and people_bankruptcies (individuals on the business), covering federal bankruptcy courts across all 50 states, DC, and Puerto Rico. Coverage is identical for business and people bankruptcies. Business searches are scoped to the states where the business is registered or has a submitted address, and people searches require a first name, last name, and SSN.
People criminal history
The people_criminal_history product uses population-based coverage rather than a fixed jurisdiction list. The table below describes that coverage model instead of listing per-jurisdiction rows.
